Short version: we use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

This Cookies Policy explains what cookies Blue Synergy Group, LLC (“BSG,” “we,” “us”) sets when you visit bluesynergygroup.com or use our client portal, why we set them, and what choices you have. It is a companion to our Privacy Policy.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit it. The next time you visit, your browser sends the cookie back, which lets the site recognize you, remember your login, or store a preference. Cookies are common, simple, and limited to the website that set them.

2. What cookies BSG uses

a. Essential session cookie (required)

When you sign in to the client portal, our Flask application issues a single first-party session cookie. This cookie is what keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it, every page load would log you out. The session expires automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity or when you close your browser.

  • Name: session (Flask default)
  • Set by: bluesynergygroup.com (first-party, no third parties involved)
  • Purpose: authentication and CSRF protection
  • Lifetime: ends 30 minutes after your last activity, or sooner when you sign out
  • Can you disable it? You can block it in your browser settings, but the portal will not work because there is no way to keep you signed in.

b. Browser-local consent preference (optional)

If you dismiss our cookie notice at the bottom of the page, we save a small value in your browser’s localStorage so the notice does not reappear on every page load. localStorage is not a cookie in the strict sense, but we mention it here for completeness. It stays in your browser, never leaves your device, and contains nothing more than the value acknowledged.

3. What BSG does NOT use

We do not use:

  • Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Mixpanel, no Heap, etc.)
  • Advertising or marketing cookies (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads, no LinkedIn Insight, etc.)
  • Behavioral tracking or profiling cookies
  • Third-party social media cookies
  • Session-replay or heatmap tools (no Hotjar, no FullStory, etc.)

If we ever add any of the above, this policy will be updated and an opt-in cookie banner will appear before any non-essential cookie is set.

4. Your choices

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Each major browser publishes instructions:

Blocking the BSG session cookie will prevent you from signing in to the client portal. The public marketing pages will still work normally.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. The “Effective” and “Last updated” dates above will reflect the latest version. Material changes (for example, adding a category of non-essential cookies) will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, through a banner on the site.
